BEGINNERS COURSES

Listed below is a list of Beginner’s Archery Courses and contacts in the County. To have your course listed here please email the webmaster.

it is a condition of Archery GB (the governing body of archery in Great Britain) that attendance on a beginners course is required before you can become a member of any Archery GB archery club. All archery clubs put safety foremost. It is essential that anyone wishing to learn archery is given tuition in both the art of shooting, and the safety aspects of the sport. Most clubs take from 10 years upwards, but please check with the club. Children under 16 years old must usually be accompanied by a parent (although there is no compulsion on the parent to shoot).

On the course you will learn:
– How to shoot safely
-Warm up and cool down exercises
– Introduction to the bow
– sight usage
– about the recurve, barebow, longbow & compound boows
– How to assemble the bow
– How to take the bow down
– Scoring
– Different Rounds
